A real Family Travel Club holiday review

La Sirène in Argelès-sur-Mer is one of those rare places that truly lives up to the hype — and for our family of five, it turned into one of our favourite holidays we’ve ever had. From the incredible waterpark to the relaxed Mediterranean vibe, this resort delivered on every level.

Here’s exactly what our stay was like, what we loved, and why we recommend it to families.

🏡 Where We Stayed – Sirène 3 Holiday Home

We booked our accommodation directly with La Sirène and highly recommend doing the same if you want the best-quality accommodation.

We stayed in a Sirène 3 — a spacious, modern 3-bedroom holiday home, perfect for a family of five.

It came with:

• Comfy beds and modern interiors

• A fully equipped kitchen

• A large private patio

• A gas BBQ for chilled family dinners outdoors

For groceries, Aldi is just a 10-minute taxi ride away, and there’s also a huge hypermarché next door to Aldi, which was super handy for stocking up.

💦 The FREE On-Site Waterpark

The highlight for our kids? Without question, the huge FREE waterpark is one of the biggest in the region.

Here’s what each of them loved most:

• Sophie (10): Water slides & splash zones

• Ethan (7): Smaller slides & kids’ water playground

• Jayden (16): Thrill slides & the huge lagoon-style pool

The entire waterpark is included in your stay, beautifully designed and kept spotlessly clean. Total winner for families.

⚽ Sports, Activities & Endless Fun

La Sirène is packed with activities. There’s always something going on, including:

• Football

• Basketball

• Mini-golf

• Swimming

• Kids clubs & teen sports

Jayden loved the teen sports sessions, while Sophie and Ethan had a brilliant time taking part in the organised kids’ activities.

If your kids are active, they will absolutely love this place.

🚴♀️ Exploring Argelès-sur-Mer by Bike

One of our favourite things was hiring bikes on-site and exploring the local area.

Argelès-sur-Mer is a beautiful seaside town with:

• A long sandy beach

• Lively restaurants

• Cafés and shops

• A relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere

Perfect for an afternoon ride or evening stroll.

🐬 Dolphin Spotting with Roussillon Croisières

We also booked a dolphin-spotting boat trip with Roussillon Croisières Argelès — and it was incredible.

It departs from the pier in Argelès, just 10 minutes by taxi from La Sirène.
If the weather is good, this is an absolute must-do.

🏛️ Day Trip to Collioure – French Charm at Its Best

Another highlight was our day trip to Collioure, one of the prettiest seaside towns in Southern France.

We explored:

• Colourful streets

• The harbour

• Local shops

• The famous Collioure markets (Wednesdays & Sundays in peak season)

🚕 Taxi cost: Around €25 each way for the five of us.

🌟 Evening Entertainment & Food

La Sirène really comes alive at night.

There’s:

• Live music

• Shows

• Dinner performances

• Entertainment for all ages

You can dine at one of the on-site restaurants or grab a takeaway, but we also loved cooking at our holiday home and enjoying BBQs on our private patio after a busy day.

✈️ Getting There – Flights & Transfers

We flew:

• Dublin → London Stansted (this saved us hundreds)

• London Stansted → Perpignan (Ryanair)

✈️ Perpignan Airport is the closest — just 30 minutes from La Sirène
🚕 Taxi cost: ~€80 for all five of us

You can also fly directly to Carcassonne Airport from Dublin ,Cork or Manchester
La Sirène runs a shuttle bus from there (around €50 return per person, approx 1 hr 30 min journey).
Always confirm shuttle availability before booking.

❤️ Final Thoughts

La Sirène was everything we wanted from a family holiday — clean, beautifully maintained, safe, and packed with fun.

Our kids still talk about it, and it’s been ranked as one of their all-time favourite holidays.

While Eurocamp, Kelair and others offer stays, we found booking direct gave us the best home and overall experience.
